Position:  Associate Director, Prevention Programs
Duties
:  We need an intelligent, focused, thorough and confident individual to assist in managing our Prevention Programs.  As Associate Director you will directly supervise 10+ F/T employees.  As AD, you will administer our community education, outreach, CTR and peer education programs.  You will develop, implement and coordinate strategies for targeted outreach and education opportunities.  Your strong analytical skills will be utilized to produce regular qualitative and quantitative reports that monitor client outcomes, highlight programmatic success and identify areas for development.  You will coordinate the collection and review of educational material and courses; prepare monthly reports including analysis of actual events and activities compared to targets. In the absence of the Director, you assume the duties of the Director of Prevention Programs. You will be asked to perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:     Our ideal candidate possesses an MPH or related degree and has five year's supervisory experience.  You should have real-world experience with various prevention theories and have knowledge of resources available to various at-risk populations.  Community education and/or outreach experience is required.  You will serve in a leadership role, which requires a strong presence coupled with the ability to work independently and multi-task.  Bilingual skills in Spanish and some grant writing experience are a plus.

Position:  Adolescent Coordinator
Background:
  Bronx AIDS Services (BAS) is a community-based, not-for-profit organization founded to serve the Bronx and affiliated communities.  BAS has been providing client-centered programs for HIV and AIDS-related services for 20+ years.

Summary:  The GO GIRL! Program is a resiliency program addressing the various needs of at-risk young women living in the Bronx ages 12 to 17.

Overview:  We need the best and brightest!
Our highly-regarded GO GIRL! Program requires an intelligent, resourceful and enthusiastic person to manage its daily operations. As the Program Coordinator, you will oversee the implementation and administration of our HIV prevention/intervention program targeting at-risk young women ages 12 to 17.
You will supervise program staff and oversee strategic planning related to the program's continuing success. As the primary liaison, you will recruit and supervise members of the Youth Leadership Program. Our Coordinator produces qualitative and quantitative reports to highlight participant outcomes; identify areas of success; and areas for further development.

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in health, human services, psychology or related area and has three years of qualifying experience working with programs serving young women. You have acquired extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance use, harm reduction, violence prevention and adolescent issues. To be successful, you should have knowledge of community and governmental service organizations and public entitlements. This is a very visible position and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Due to reporting requirements, you should be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and proficiency in a database program. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

POSITION:  Coordinator of Young Men’s Programs
SUMMARY: We are seeking an intelligent, resourceful and energetic person to oversee our Young Men programs, including engaging participants and representing the agency at various community and professional local and national events.

As the Program Coordinator, you will supervise all activities related to two federally funded projects, namely a  HRSA funded Special Project of National Significance geared to researching social networking practices of Young Men of Color Having Sex with Men (YMCSM), identifying those who are HIV positive and engaging them in supportive Services and medical care; and a CDC funded project that includes CTR, a DEBI adaptation of Many Men-Many Voices for YMCSM and a home grown intervention, CODE RED being considered for a DEBI.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

      Internal activities

  1. In conjunction with the Human Resources Director and the Associate Director of Prevention Programs, responsible for the recruitment and retention of staff for the four distinctive programmatic areas under the YMSM umbrella (currently SPNS, CODE RED, 3MV and CTR).
  2. Provide day to day oversight and supervision of all YMSM programs.  This includes conducting regular and documented supervision sessions with each individual team members as well as YMSM whole team meetings.  Each session will consist of meeting the technical assistance needs of YMSM staff members.
  3. Supervise the Community Ethnographers (CEOs), training sessions, supervisory meetings/team meetings, direct observations and quality assurance activities as required by the project; approve CEO time sheets according to agency guidelines.
  4. Maintain a program database that captures demographic, ethnographic and other client level and evaluation data relevant to the project.
  5. Act as the primary liaison with the subcontracting agency, Montefiore Adolescent AIDS Program, conducting bi-weekly meetings with the Medical CM and/or other supervisory staff of that project, including the Director of the AAP and the Director of Programs as necessary.
  6. Attend BAS YMSM related meetings bimonthly to participate in discussions of perceived gaps in YMSM services and feedback from YMSM on quality of community services.
  7. Meet with any collaborating agencies that serve LGBTQI in order to maintain relationships and to address barriers to accessing prevention and care services for YMSM.

 External/Funding Source activities

  1. Work with the HRSA/SPNS YES Center on evaluation requirements of the program.
  2. Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative reports on all project activities to the Associate Director of Prevention, and prepare quarterly and/or annual narrative reports for funders, noting progress in meeting program goals, obstacles encountered, and strategies for overcoming barriers.
  3. Monitor participant charts and log documentation quarterly to ensure access to services and program compliance.
  4. Assist Evaluation Consultant in the development and implementation of program deliverables and ongoing assessing of service accessibility.
  5. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

·         BA/BS in a related field and 3 years work experience in HIV/AIDS conducting outreach, testing and counseling

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel Required

·         Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks

·         Bilingual Spanish preferred, with experience working with the culturally diverse needs of MSM/YMSM population in addition to various ethnic and socioeconomic groups

·         Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills

 

POSITION:  WYN (Work Your Network) Project Coordinator

SUMMARY: 
WYN is a Social Networking Intervention Project to increase access of HIV Counseling & Testing services among MSM and their network associates.  You will provide oversight of the day to day operations of WYN program, including providing counseling and testing and assisting in quality assurance and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1.  Manage recruitment and screening of potential recruiters from BAS’ MSM and YMSM population
2.  Conduct orientation on program and training on social networking to selected recruiters, either one on one or in a group setting.
3.  Manage required phone line specific to the WYN program 4. Track all recruiters and their network associates, as well as network associates that become recruiters.
5.  Maintain all onsite referral cards that are received at Southern Blvd 6.  Coordinate mobile testing at venues identified by recruiters as places of congregation among their social networks (i.e. house ball events and other similar functions)
7.  Conduct exit and follow up interviews as necessary
8.  Generate required reports on all recruiters, network associates that have become recruiters, those tested, and follow up with individuals that test HIV+, making a successful linkage to primary care services. 9.  Oversee all (AIRS and E-compass) data entry functions.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Associate Director of Prevention

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in health, human services or related field.  3 years work experience in HIV/AIDS conducting outreach, testing and counseling.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

  • NYS Pre/Post test certified.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.

POSITION:  Many Men Many Voices (3MV) Early Intervention Specialist

SUMMARY: 
Many Men Many Voices (3MV) is an Intervention Project serving Young Men of Color who have Sex with Men.   Position is oversees Counseling, Testing and Referrals to 3MV program participants
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 include, and are not limited to the following:

  • Provide Oraquick and/or Rapid Testing to 3MV program participants.

  • Assist those participants testing HIV- to engage in regular testing particularly as it pertains to harm reduction and risk reduction.  Provide appropriate counseling, follow-up and referrals to those participants testing HIV+.

  • Assist with crisis intervention as needed.

  • Produce quantitative and qualitative reports as required by funding source and the agency.

  • Conduct free training on HIV and substance Abuse Prevention for program participants.

  • Compile a list of local, regional and national support services.

  • Address safe(r) sex issues with program participants and conduct regular workshops that eroticize safe(r) sex.

QUALIFICATIONS:   BA/BS with three years experience preferred.  The ideal candidate possesses  knowledge and experience working with gay, bisexual and MSMs.  Counseling and education experience with male-oriented groups and/or individuals helpful.  HIV pre/post test counseling certified.  Ability to develop programs/training materials and evaluation tools.

SUMMARY
: Provide Case Management services in order to help individual and families with HIV/AIDS function as independently as possible in community by linking clients to appropriate services, facilitate support groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in public health, human services or related area and 1 year of qualifying experience.  Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance use and mental illness.  Knowledge of community service organizations and public benefits.  Minimum one year supervisory experience.  Strong organization skills.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Strong interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize and delegate.  Bilingual/Spanish helpful.
DUTIES:   Maintain timely and appropriate client charts.  Carry active case load which meets funding source and BAS requirements.  Collect data to make appropriate assessments of client needs. Facilitate referral and coordination of care with community agencies.  Ensure community follow-up to engage client in care, promote compliance with medical appointments and encourage client self-sufficiency and empowerment. Develop and update service plans as required by program. Make home visits.  Accompany clients to appointments as necessary. Provide crisis intervention.  Prepare statistics as required by BAS and funding source.  Conduct weekly case conferences with SCM. Attend and participate in CSP staff meetings and group supervision.  Ensure all documentation and records are completed and up to date in a timely manner.  Attend trainings, community, professional or coalition meetings as requested by Director.  Perform other related duties as assigned by Director.

DUTIES:
Maintain active caseload and provide comprehensive, intensive case management to HIV+ clients and their collaterals.  Coordinate and supervise case management activities of Follow-Up Worker and Case Management Technician.  Prepare and update service plans and assessments in accordance with client needs and program requirements.  Provide crisis intervention, facilitate referrals and coordinate client care with community agencies, resources and service providers.
